Some of the benefits of self-hypnosis

  • reduce stress complaints reduce anxiety and pain complaints
  • strengthen immune system
  • promote wound healing
  • reducing menopause symptoms
  • learning to connect (again) with your feelings
  • give yourself positive suggestions that work on a deeper level than affirmations
  • sleep better
  • slow the aging process

What is important to realize is that these benefits are not directly measurable and also depend on the extent to which a person actively engages with them themselves. The reason that self-hypnosis can offer so many wonderful benefits has to do with the fact that it is a very effective tool for getting rid of stress. In addition, it is also important that you reduce or resolve internal stressors with hypnotherapy. On that note, it is helpful to know more about the effect of stress on our bodies.

I myself experienced a hypnotherapy session with Ayla and I am very satisfied with it. I have experienced Ayla as a pleasant person, with whom I quickly felt at ease and I find her knowledgeable in her work. I experienced the session as intense, insightful and very positive. I now understand better where certain thoughts and behavior come from and I have benefited from practicing the self-hypnosis. I now use it daily. I was already used to meditating daily, the self-hypnosis ensures that I can relax even faster and deeper physically.

What is stress

Stress is a mechanism of the body to maximize survival in the event of perceived danger. Our body has a nervous system. through our senses, we are constantly receiving information from our environment. when there is an indication of danger then the stress response in the body is immediately initiated. Important to realize in this context is that the body reacts the same way to the danger of coming face to face with a dangerous animal such as a lion, as it does, for example, getting an email from your boss.

The stress system is a neuroendocrine system. This means that upon a stress trigger, the body responds by producing hormones such as cortisol, adrealin and norepinephrine, among others. These hormones influence numerous of our body functions and even affect DNA levels. Stress can turn genes on and off.

There are numerous stressors in life that can put our bodies into a stress response:

  • Environmental influences
  • Physical stressors, such as injuries
  • Psychological stressors such as:
  • negative thoughts
  • problems in the relationship
  • problems at work.

Self-hypnosis is a powerful tool to help the body release stress. Stressors arising from negative thoughts/emotions or from memories connected with traumatic events from your past that have not yet been properly processed can be processed with hypnotherapy.

Thus, a combination of hypnotherapy and an active practice of self-hypnosis can contribute to both your physical and mental health.
